August News
The Groundlevel management team values the feedback and opinions of their colleagues and continually seeks to offer a positive working experience. The company’s first Employee Engagement Survey has recently been undertaken in order to gauge employee satisfaction, and to encourage ideas and suggestions from all staff. As a fast-growing company, it is important to Groundlevel to continually re-evaluate itself, both as a service provider and an employer. The management team will be reviewing the results of the survey and communicating with staff to notify them of any resulting changes. Thanks to all of our employees who took the time to complete the survey.
Customer feedback is equally important to us, and whether good or bad, the management team always communicates feedback to the relevant individuals. We have recently received another valuable compliment from one of our customers based in Leeds, as follows:-
“I live in a ground floor flat and my private garden area gets done for me by your gardeners at the same time as the communal grounds. This has been done today and I am e-mailing because I would really like some praise to be passed on to the people who have been doing this job lately. They really do a great job and are always paying attention to detail. This is very much appreciated and as I work shifts I have occasionally been in the flat when this work has been done. The gents that do this always work together as quietly and efficiently as they can. I would also like to add that I also find this to be the case for those who clean the windows. I am sometimes sleeping when they arrive due to the nature of my shift work but have never been disturbed by them and I'm sure you will appreciate this is very important to me so I would appreciate if some recognition could be passed on to them. Kind Regards, V Scott”
We have of course passed these comments onto the relevant employees, and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Andrew Addison and his team of grounds maintenance operatives for this excellent feedback.
Our website has now been updated to include a page dedicated to our mobile teams, introducing you to the specialist staff and their wide ranging capabilities in relation to the services that Groundlevel can offer to its clients.
Groundlevel has also undergone a high level restructure in August, and continues to review departmental structures and staffing levels. It is crucial at this time of rapid growth that we have a robust structure in place to accommodate workloads and manage the business, whilst maintaining the highest levels of service to our new and existing customer base. Our new Senior Management Team consists of experts in the fields of Grounds Maintenance, Soft Services, Finance, Facilities Management, Operational Management and HR / HSE; please see our staff pages for more information about us
Further to recent press releases reporting new contract awards and also the investment made by Seneca, The Business Desk have published an article in August documenting the ongoing relationship with Barclays Business, whose support has given Groundlevel the opportunity to expand its workforce by 25% and continue to grow the business in 2012-13 and beyond. “Groundlevel to add jobs after funding fillip”

Groundlevel - 15 Year Anniversary
As Groundlevel this year celebrates 15 years in operation, we have a lot to be thankful for; first and foremost for our valued customers, and also for our dedicated workforce who continually demonstrate their commitment to their professions. It is this dedication to delivering excellence, coupled with the ambition and enthusiasm of our managing director that has driven us to this position of being able to make the following announcements that will be key to the continual expansion of this dynamic and fast-growing Facilities Management Company.
Having been established by managing director, Lewis Nunn in 1997, as a grounds maintenance and landscaping company; Groundlevel has grown and expanded it's scope to become a total facilities management organisation, accommodating our clients out-sourcing requirements as a one-stop shop to service excellence. We now provide services to many commercial, educational, business and property management sectors throughout the North West of England and the Midlands.
In spite of the current economic climate, Groundlevel has continuously and admirably managed to secure new business at a time when to do so is not only rare, but also a considerable reflection on an organisations resilience and reputation. We are pleased to announce the recent award of a £1.2 million contract, with a prestigious property management company, that will see us provide Total Facilities Management services to a number of large residential developments throughout the North West. We are currently in the early stages of preparing our business for this additional work as we progress through a mobilisation period, working very closely with the client to ensure that we meet all of their needs.
To further enhance this great news, we have also secured substantial financial investment from Seneca Group and FW Capital that will provide us with a strong platform for further growth and expansion. Groundlevel welcomes Tim Murphy of Seneca who will take a seat on our board after the company secured a minority stake in Groundlevel. We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation to our supplier partners who have supported us through difficult times; we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.
There is a real commitment by the senior management team to continue to grow and develop the company; providing security and opportunities for new and existing staff, and offering first class, bespoke facilities management solutions to our new and existing client base.
Thanks from all of the Groundlevel team to our valued customers and supply chain for their continued support; we look forward to nurturing and sustaining these relationships for many years to come

“Groundlevel have in the short time they have been on site and turned around our grounds maintenance. We were sadly left disappointed by previous contractors. An excellent example of their work has been the front entrance area to the school, I am sure you will all admit. The recent bad weather brought a team of Groundlevel staff with mechanised equipment to clear the access and car parks enabling the school closure (1 day) to be kept to a minimum where others failed to open at all! Thank you Lewis and Groundlevel staff.”
Mr John Watson, Consultant Head to Trafford Schools, Wellington School.
“We have worked with Groundlevel since April and have been very impressed with the service. We have always found the staff to be friendly, professional and reliable. The difference to the school grounds has been very noticeable and the personal and professional support from the management has been very welcome.”
Mrs Cath Cooke, Head teacher, Gorse Covert Primary School
“Groundlevel were able to supply my school with a Relief Site Manager from Monday 14th June 2010 to Friday 1st October 2010. This was due to long term sickness of our current Site Manager. From the moment that I made the phonecall to make this request, I have been impressed with the quality of the service that we have received. They were able to provide a high level of customer care which included an initial visit by senior staff within the company, in order to set up and carry out a thorough survey of our site and to formulate a maintenance plan which could be carried out over the above period. They were also able to make recommendations with regards to longer term issues which has helped to inform the premises section of our School development Plan. The relief site manager did a fantastic job and he will be missed. However, now that I have established a good working relationship with Groundlevel, I hope that I will be able to continue to do business with them as they offer a comprehensive value for money service.”
Mr Dominic Hemington, St John Fisher and St Thomas More School, Benchill Manchester
“Groundlevel has provided excellent support and service to our school. In addition to competitive building and grounds work, a bespoke caretaking service was provided during a very difficult time. They have provided a personal and professional service.”

“I would like to thank you and your staff for all the work you have put into improving our school environment over the last year.”
Mr C Metcalf, Head teacher, St Margaret’s Primary School
“You provide a very thorough, reliable and cost-effective service, thank you! We will definitely be sticking with you for the foreseeable future!”

We have no hesitation in commending Groundlevel Limited for grounds maintenance work.”
Mr Barker, Head teacher, St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School
“Groundlevel are offering a bespoke service in grounds maintenance that meets the individual needs of the school. A first class, quality and value for money service are provided.”
Mrs J Hewson, Head teacher, Sycamore Lane Primary School
Mrs Sue Hall, Head teacher, Statham Primary School
“I would like to congratulate the grounds maintenance team who have worked extremely hard at our school during this year. They are always polite, courteous and helpful.”
Meadowside Primary School
“I would like to thank you and your staff for all the work you have put into improving our school environment over the last year.”
Mr C Metcalf, Head teacher, St Margaret’s Primary School
“You provide a very thorough, reliable and cost-effective service, thank you! We will definitely be sticking with you for the foreseeable future!”
Mrs Helen Graham, Head teacher, Cherry Tree Primary School
